Rhythms and more rhythms played from anything

The street sounds of my childhood in Brazil, the cultural background and African influences these are part of my main inspiration?

The days of the carnival as a child, holding hands with mum and dad and listening to street percussion sounds.

Rhythms and more rhythms played from anything – I could grab hold of that – the kitchen cabinet, the wooden chairs, playing the Samba with the box of matches, the garbage bin – all had sounds for me as a child.

And then my first guitar at the age of 11, presented to me by my dad.
And dad said to me ‘if your going to do it, make sure you do it well..’

Later the influence of world music coming into Brazil very strongly are all part of my background of this endless journey that seems to be ever renewing since I started.

This story never ends – its only a new chapter on a daily basis, and I assume that this happens to all the musicians that are making the most of their gifts, given by our Maker God.
